Background:
The Events Park Playground and Picnic Pavilions are 2014 Quality of Life General Obligation Bond projects. The purpose of the projects is to construct the Events Park Playground and Picnic Pavilions located on New Orleans St at S 209th E Ave. The bid documents included a Schedule A Base Bid and two Additive Alternatives for the Playground and a Schedule B Base Bid and two Additive Alternatives for the Picnic Pavilions. The project was advertised for bids on October 17th and 24th, 2017. Bids were opened on November 7th, 2017. Five (5) bids were received. The low bidder was Voy Construction, LLC with a Schedule A Base Bid of $240,566.09, Schedule A Additive Alternate No. 1 of $9,972.11, Schedule A Additive Alternate No. 2 of $8,337.65 and a Schedule B Base Bid of $220,179.22, Schedule B Additive Alternate No. 1 of $63,500.94, Schedule B Additive Alternate No. 2 of $20,190.90. The certified bid tabulation is attached.
Staff recommends award of the Schedule A Base Bid with Additive Alternate No. 2, and Schedule B Base Bid for Events Park Playground and Picnic Pavilions to Voy Construction, LLC, in the amount of $469,082.96. Voy Construction LLC is the lowest responsive bidder regardless of any combination of base bid plus additive alternates for either schedule.
Funds for the work are available in the 2011 and 2014 General Obligation Bonds.
