Consideration, discussion, and possible action to recommend to City Council to expend funds to design erosion control measures along the bank of Haikey Creek at the Diocese of south Tulsa (Case No. 24-007)
End
Background:
The proposed project at 12300 E 91st St is to design erosion control measures along the bank of Haikey Creek near the Diocese of South Tulsa.
Staff investigated the site and found that the bank of Haikey Creek, south of Washington Ave was eroding on the Diocese property.
The four-cell box culvert under Washington Ave (91st) near the Diocese of Tulsa in Broken Arrow was widened during the roadway widening project. The construction/widening of the boxes was completed, but the armoring did not take place. The armoring project was bid out by the City in 2021, but did not receive any bids.
The increased velocity has caused the south bank of Haikey creek to erode. The project will be to clean the box culvert, the north channel, and to design erosion control measures armor the southern bank.
The estimated design cost to engineer a erosion control measures is approximately $50,000.00 in 2024 Dollars.
Staff is requesting $50,000.00 of the 2018 GO Bond, Proposition 6 for design costs.
This area flows to Haikey Creek.
Cost: $50,000.00
