Consideration, discussion, and possible action to recommend to City Council to expend funds to design an updated outlet structure at 215 South Laurel Avenue (Case No. 24-005)
End
Background:
The proposed project is at 215 S Laurel Avenue in Broken Arrow. The project will be to design an update to the pond outlet structure on a citizen’s property.
In 2012, the City of Broken Arrow designed and constructed a project to extend a storm sewer from S Lewis Ave to the Creek behind 3321 W Commercial St. As a part of this project a new outfall was constructed on the pond to the south. The outfall was designed to release the water from pond at a rate equal to or less than the existing rate. An easement was not able to be acquired from the property owner to the west. Therefore, the outfall structure was moved 25 ft east and released in the channel behind 3321 W Commercial St.
The estimated design cost to engineer a repair and alteration of the outlet is approximately $30,000.00 in 2024 Dollars.
Staff is requesting $30,000.00 of the 2018 GO Bond, unnamed Proposition 6 for design costs.
This area flows to Haikey Creek.
Cost: $30,000.00
