Title:

title

Consideration, discussion, and possible action to NOT recommend to City Council to expend funds to repair and replace a wood retaining wall (Case No 24-003)

End

Background:

The proposed project is behind 2417 W Fort Worth St in the Country Aire II subdivision. The project would be to replace an existing retaining wall on private property. Another option would be to grade and riprap the area.

Staff investigated the site and found that the retaining wall in in need of maintenance. The applicant asked the City to help repair the wall. Staff found no public benefit to the repair.

The estimated construction cost to build a new retaining wall is approximately $150,000.00 and the design cost would be approximately $50,000.00 in 2024 Dollars.

Repairing or replacing the existing retaining wall does not have a public benefit. Therefore, staff is requesting that the Committee NOT recommend the approval of this project.

This area flows to Haikey Creek.
