Consideration, discussion, and possible approval of a 30-60 day extension to adopt the updated Zoning Ordinance

Background:
Community Development is working with Kendig Keast on the new zoning ordinance. This was presented to Council on November 7, 2023 for preview and tentatively scheduled for adoption in late January or early February. On January 16, 2024, City Council approved a 90-day extension to review additional items and input which needed to be addressed prior to the final adoption to include the zoning map, the land use compatibility matrix in the comprehensive plan, and the residential zoning conversion matrix. The 90-day extensions deadline expired on April 15, 2024. Staff is requesting additional time to review and vet additional comments.
The Community Development Director is requesting an extension of this deadline for another 30-60 days so that staff can dedicate the necessary time and attention needed complete this review.
