Background:

The law requires Ordinances to be published within 15 days of its passing.  This Ordinance was not published within the time required.

Current City ordinance Section Chapter 23, article IV. Stopping, Standing, and Parking prescribes the rules and regulations for parking within the City of Broken Arrow.  This amendment will impose overnight parking limitations based on time and place.  Section (a) specifically prohibits overnight parking in the Museum BA parking lot between the hours of Friday midnight through Saturday at noon.

This parking lot is utilized as event space for Farmers’ Market vendors and patrons.  Cars left in this space overnight limit available space and create safety issues for patrons and vendors when vehicle owners attempt to leave during market operation.
