Approval of and authorization to renew a non-exclusive licensing agreement for The Rose District merchandise with DS Concepts, LLC
End
Background:
In August of 2021, the City of Broken Arrow filed an application to trademark The Rose District. The trademark application has allowed The Rose District to strengthen its distinctiveness as a brand with the addition of merchandise availability. A non-exclusive licensing agreement allows wholesalers and businesses to create merchandise available for purchase, increasing The Rose District visibility as a tourist destination.
On 7-19-2022 Council approved entering into non-exclusive licensing agreements with businesses interested in selling The Rose District merchandise. Council approved the first non-exclusive agreement with DS Concepts on April 4, 2023. The agreement lasts for a one-year contract term expiring on April 4, 2024. DS Concepts, LLC is requesting to renew the annual contract to continue creating and selling merchandise with the trademarked The Rose District brand.
