Background:
The City of Broken Arrow is allocated an estimated $406,225.00 through the Tulsa County Urban County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for Federal Fiscal Year 2024 (FFY2024). This grant program is funded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and is administered locally through the Indian Nations Council of Governments (INCOG).
City staff has identified multiple projects to fund through this year's grant application. The projects identified are all located in low to moderate income areas of the city, or are only available to income eligible residence owners city wide, and are more particularly described as follows: 1) $50,000.00 - Emergency repairs assistance program for income eligible owner occupied residences city wide (weatherization, energy efficiency, and life safety issues); 2) $405,810.00 -Residential streets asphalt repair and resurfacing in the College Addition including mill and overlay, sidewalk repair and construction, and other miscellaneous improvements.
Staff recommends approval and execution of the 2024 CDBG application including Resolution 1564 as well as the application certification.
