Background:
The Purchasing Department went out to bid for janitorial services for Niehuis Park Community Center, Central Park Community Center, Nature Center, Animal Shelter, Training Center 1, Training Center 2, Training Center 3, Justice Center, Street and Stormwater, Physical Resources, and Police and Fire Building We received 9 bids with the low bid from Alpha Ever Clean for $11,845 per month.
Per City Ordinance 2-29, a determination of the most advantageous bid shall be made. Due to past inappropriate performance, problems with personnel and repeated concerns with how Alpha Ever Clean conducted business with the City of Broken Arrow and its employees previously, Alpha Ever Clean's bid is not in the best interest of the City and not the most advantageous.
Therefore Maintenance Services recommends awarding to the most advantageous second low bid being from Unicare Building Maintenance, Inc for $13,576.32 per month. Ryan Baze, the City's Maintenance Services Director reviewed the bids, called the references provided and visited with the management team from Unicare Building Maintenance, Inc. Staff is recommending that the contract be awarded to the most advantageous bid Unicare Building Maintenance, Inc with services for janitorial starting July 1, 2022.
Cost: $13,576.32 Monthly
