Background:

The collective bargaining agreement between the City of Broken Arrow and the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge No. 170 was approved June 21, 2021 as a two-year agreement to be effective from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023.  The agreement provided for the following changes:

1.                     Administrative changes to Article 15 (Dues Deduction), Article 17 (Family   Leave), Article 31 (Drug and Alcohol Testing) and Article 34 (Promotions).

2.                     A 6% base-wage increase for all bargaining unit members effective July 1, 2021.

3.                     A 3% base-wage increase for all bargaining unit members effective July 1, 2022.

During the 2022-2023 budget process, Council has appropriated the necessary funding to implement the 2022-2023 salary schedule, pursuant to the two-year agreement.   

Staff is recommending approval of the 2022-2023 salary schedule to be effective July 1, 2022, as previously approved, based on the sufficient funding in the upcoming Fiscal Year budget process.
