Background:
The Broken Arrow Public Schools STEM Academy is set to open for classes this fall. With this in mind, Engineering & Construction Department staff has been working with a design engineer to create design plans for improving Albany Street between 23rd Street and 37th Street. These improvements have been broken in phases with the intent of constructing Phase I of the roadway improvements and replacing the bridge over Lone Star Creek before first day of school, August 18th, 2021.
The project includes the following:
ST2035 - This Phase 1 project includes construction of approximately 1,000 feet of asphalt roadway widening from 2-lanes to 5-lanes or 2-lanes with asphalt shoulders. The project also includes driveways, drainage culverts, approximately 1,000 linear feet of sidewalk, approximately 1,100 linear feet of curb and gutter, and installation of a pre-engineered aluminum corrugated structural plate single radius arch bridge structure, including headwalls and wingwalls. The project shall also include all miscellaneous items required to assemble and install the aforementioned bridge structure including: excavation, foundations, and backfill materials. The pre-engineered, fabricated bridge structure materials shall be delivered to the project site on Albany Street between 23rd Street and 37th Street in Broken Arrow, OK.
The project was advertised on March 26 and April 2, 2021. Bids were opened on April 16, 2021 with seven (7) bids received and all being responsive. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. The bids submitted were composed of eighty-one (81) pay items to form the Total Base Bid. The lowest responsible bidder was Tri-Star Construction, LLC, with a Total Bid of $1,644,00...
