Background:
The Broken Arrow Public Schools STEM Academy is set to open for classes this fall. With this in mind, Engineering & Construction Department staff has been working with a design engineer to create design plans for improving Albany Street between 23rd Street and 37th Street. These improvements have been broken in phases with the intent of constructing phase I of the roadway improvements and replacing the bridge over Lone Star Creek before first day of school, August 18th, 2021. In order to expedite the construction of the Albany Street Widening Between 23rd Street and 37th Street Phase I Project, staff created and advertised a procurement contract for bridge materials.
The procurement contract includes the following:
ST2035 - PRE-ENGINEERED ALUMINUM CORRUGATED STRUCTURAL PLATE SINGLE RADIUS ARCH BRIDGE STRUCTURE WITH HEADWALLS AND WINGWALLS PROCUREMENT: This project consists of furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment to design, fabricate, and deliver a pre-engineered aluminum corrugated structural plate single radius arch bridge structure, including headwalls and wingwalls, meeting the plan specifications shown in the procurement contract documents. The project shall also include all miscellaneous items required to assemble and install the aforementioned bridge structure with the exception of excavation, foundations, and backfill materials. The bridge structure will be assigned to the Contractor for the General Construction Work, a separate advertised construction contract, on the Albany Street Widening from 23rd Street to 37th Street Phase I Project for assembly and installation.
