Background:
As part of the water treatment process, Lagoon No. 1 at the Verdigris River Water Treatment Plant accumulates solids in the raw water that must be periodically removed. The lagoon was last cleaned in 2019. At that time, the sludge was wet and the project consisted of dewatering, removing, and disposing of the sludge in the bottom of that lagoon. Since then, this lagoon was placed back into service and filled again, then dewatered and allowed to dry out. This current project is for the removal and disposal of dry residuals from this lagoon.
The project was advertised on February 15th, 2021 and February 22nd, 2021. A pre-bid meeting was held on February 25th, 2021. One (1) bid was received and opened on March 9th, 2021. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. The lowest responsible bid was from Cherokee Pride Construction, Inc. for a Bid price of $142,500.00. The Engineer’s Estimate was $150,000.00.
