Background:
Nienhuis Skate Park is 12,500 square feet that was built in 2007. In 2018, the citizens of the City of Broken Arrow voted to expand the skate park. Since the original skate park was built, skate park designs have changed across the country. The existing skate park includes a lot of bowls and ramps, the new skate park will be more of a street and plaza style.
The project includes rehabilitation of the existing skate park and construction of the expansion of the skate park at Nienhuis Park. The construction of the expansion of the skate park is approximately 10,000 square feet. Contract time for the project shall be One-Hundred Twenty (120) calendar days.
The project was advertised on February 9th and 16th. Six (6) bids were received on March 16th, 2021. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. The lowest responsible bid was Magnum Construction for $751,900.00 which includes the Base Bid plus Alternates 1 and 2. Alternate 1 includes a pump track and Alternate 2 includes a shade structure in the middle of the Skate Park. The Engineer’s Estimate for this project was $618,500.00.
