Consideration, discussion and possible approval of Resolution No. 1372, a Resolution regarding the use of masks and other protective measures to reduce community transmission of the COVID-19 virus and pledging support to those property owners and businesses who required the use of a mask in the City of Broken Arrow and possible consideration, discussion and direction to City staff to draft an ordinance mandating the use of masks and other protective measures in the City of Broken Arrow

Background:
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, Councilmember Parks directed staff to prepare Resolution no. 1372 recommending and encouraging the wearing of masks while in public in the City of Broken Arrow. Resolution No. 1372 is not an ordinance, but rather a resolution by the Broken Arrow City Council encouraging individuals and businesses to do the following to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 in the City of Broken Arrow, including the following:
1. It is strongly recommended and encouraged that all Broken Arrow citizens and those visiting Broken Arrow properly wear a mask while in public;
2. It is strongly recommended and encouraged that all places of business and all places that accommodate group gatherings in the City of Broken Arrow require the use of masks/facial coverings on such properties;
3. The City of Broken Arrow and the City of Broken Arrow Police Department, pledge their support to those places requiring the use of masks/face coverings and pledge to provide assistance in instances where individuals refuse to comply with the standards established by the business owners or property owners as allowed by Oklahoma State Statute and the City of Broken Arrow Ordinances;
4. It is strongly recommended that, in addition to the use of masks, Broken Arrow residents and those visiting Broken Arrow take further steps to reduce community transmission of COVID-19 by keeping six (6) feet of physical distance...
