Background:
Fire Station No. 2 is located at 2300 W. Norfolk Dr, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and was opened for operation in 2012. The station has had foundation settlement issues on the west side of the building for several years. Wallace Engineering - Structural Consultants, Inc. (Wallace) was engaged to perform a peer review of design, plans, specifications and calculations produced by the original design firm BKL, Inc. Wallace produced a findings report complete with repair recommendations and a cost estimate. In addition, Wallace Engineering has prepared construction documents for repairs to the foundation and building based upon the recommendations from their structural investigation findings report.
Additional services are needed for special inspection services to ensure construction of the foundation repairs comply with the plans and specifications. These services were not included in the scope of their original contract. The Engineering and Construction Department negotiated a lump sum fee with Wallace Engineering - Structural Consultants, Inc. for a total of $15,900.
Cost: $15,900.00
