Background:

Law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Oklahoma are able to purchase vehicles at the state contract price, which is advantageous to the political subdivisions by allowing them to make purchases at lower prices.  The Police Department is seeking to purchase twelve Dodge Durango Police Pursuit Vehicles for the Patrol Division.  These will be marked patrol vehicles. John Vance Motors submitted the most advantageous bid at $420,588.00. These vehicles will replace aging vehicles in the patrol fleet.

The Dodge Durango is the least expensive AWD V8 pursuit rated sport utility vehicle on the market. All wheel drive will provide more stability in all weather conditions and make the vehicle capable of traversing snow and ice.

Funds have been appropriated and are available in Police Department’s portion of the Sales Tax Capital Improvement Fund and Police Public Safety Sales Tax Fund 44.
