Approval of and authorization to execute Agreement for Professional Consultant Services with McClelland Consulting Engineers, Inc. for providing design services on the 37th Street Roadway Widening from Omaha Street to Dearborn Street project (Project Number ST21390)
End

Background:
The widening of 37th Street from Omaha Street to Dearborn Street is a named 2018 General Obligation Bond project. This project is serves numerous residents of Broken Arrow as well as is situated adjacent to Liberty Elementary School. The design and construction will have significant challenges due to local drainage patterns and the ingress and egress to the school. With these challenges in mind, the Engineering & Construction Department selected the A/E firm McClelland Consulting Engineers, Inc. from the list of ranked and qualified firms that submitted statements of qualifications for the 2018 General Obligation Bond Proposition 1, Transportation Projects, to negotiate a design agreement.
The project includes widening the existing two-lane asphalt roadway to a three-lane asphalt roadway with open ditches, curb & gutter as necessary, and miscellaneous storm pipes/sewers as necessary. Sidewalk shall be added to both sides of 37th Street. Water and sewer line relocations/upgrades, as required, as well as replacement of an existing pedestrian crossing signal adjacent to Liberty Elementary, shall also be included as part of the design project. This project shall also include services for the following: identification of ultimate right-of-way needs, preparation of ultimate right-of-way acquisition documents, assistance during acquisition, any and all governmental agency coordination/permitting, and identification of and need for coordination of utility relocations and proposed construction phasing.
