Background:
Stormwater runoff from the Lakes at Indian Springs, Indian Springs manor, The Oaks at Indian Springs subdivisions and a portion of the Indian Springs Golf Course drains into a private, lined man-made channel and is conveyed southeast through Indian Springs Manor subdivision. The stormwater discharges through a box culvert underneath 9th Street immediately north of Natchez Avenue into a private drainage way and pond. An earthen dam and overflow spillway is located at the east end of the pond.
The private drainage way and pond are owned by Mr. Jerry Wilkins. He has recently constructed a water feature and has worked with the City to mitigate previous drainage concerns along his property.
The City's Lynn Lane Trunk Sewer, which collects wastewater flows from both the County Line Trunk Sewer system and the Broken Arrow Creek Trunk Sewer system, runs immediately to the east of the pond. The pond serves as an energy dissipater and protects our main trunk sewer system to the Lynn Lane Treatment Facility.
Drainage and erosion control improvements near the intersection of 9th Street and Natchez Avenue will slow the water down and protect the watercourse that serves as an energy dissipater to the main sanitary sewer line to the Lynn Lane Treatment Facility.
