Approval of and authorization to execute Contract Amendment No. 1 with A&A Asphalt, Incorporated, for the cold milling of asphalt streets at various locations throughout the City

Background:
The cold milling of asphalt streets within the corporate limits of the City of Broken Arrow is accomplished by a non-encumbered contract. The work will consist of cold milling asphalt streets as part of resurfacing projects performed at various locations throughout the City at a unit price per square yard. Bids were advertised in April 2019 and the contract was awarded to A&A Asphalt, Incorporated, on May 7, 2019. The approved contract provided for an annual contract, allowing up to two (2) total renewals, at the same unit prices. This recommendation is the first of the possible two (2) renewals.
Upon mutual agreement by the City and the Contractor, this contract may be renewed for an additional year. It is staff’s recommendation to renew this contract for an additional year.
