Background:
In March of 2018, the City Council ratified the Mayor’s signing an application for Fiscal Year 2018 Tulsa County Urban Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for Detroit Street from 4th Street to 9th Street. Subsequently, in May of 2019, the City Council ratified the Mayor’s signing an application for Fiscal Year 2019 Tulsa County Urban Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for Detroit Street from 1st Street to 4th Street. These projects will benefit the College Addition, a low to moderate income neighborhood. INCOG submitted the Contracts for Public Improvements for the street rehabilitation projects stated above.
Engineering and Construction staff undertook and completed design of a project on Detroit from 3rd Street to 9th Street. The design was extended westward from 4th Street to 3rd Street in order to facilitate proper drainage of the project. The project incorporates the following: an asphalt mill and overlay of the existing street, addition of sidewalks on both the north and south sides of Detroit, repair of approximately 483 linear feet of existing sanitary sewer, as well as incidental driveway and storm drainage construction. The project was advertised on October 14th with bids opened on November 12, 2019.The lowest responsible bidder was Cherokee Pride Construction, Inc., with a Total Bid of $517,733.50. Subsequently a Notice to Proceed to the contractor on January 13, 2010.
This Change Order #1 addresses the following additions to the contract:
- As directed by The City of Broken Arrow and agreed upon by the contractor, the contractor shall construct the Detroit Street 1rst to 3rd street rehabilitation project ST1947 as part of the current project. The attached plans shall be incorporated into the project contract documents accordingly as a continuation of the base contract. The associated line items within ST1947 and ST1921 shall be paid out as line item over-runs authorized by this change order. The below "Authorized Over-runs" are supported by the attached Quantity Adjustment breakdown and correlate to the ST1947 additional values. The below noted line items with ST1947 are not applicable to line item overruns and shall be change ordered into the contract documents accordingly. The below costs are inclusive of all materials, labor, and applicable markups such to provide a complete in place project.
Contract Time Adjustments:
- The ST1947 shall be completed in 90 calendar days.
