Background:

Main Place Playhouse is located at 1800 S. Main Street, Broken Arrow, OK. The Public Safety Complex (PSC) is located at 1101 N 6th St, Broken Arrow, OK. Both projects are funded with operating budget. The firm EDA + FKI Engineers PC was selected to provide the design to replace 6 HVAC units at Main Place Playhouse and provide backup HVAC units at the PSC. The updates include updating electrical and mechanical instillation to present code standards.

Bid documents were advertised December 16 and 23, 2019. Two responsive bids were received and opened on January 14, 2020. The lowest responsive bid was from Magnum Construction with a Total Base Bid price of $204,800.00. This Base Bid was almost 47% higher than the project budget of $139,700.00. Then Engineer’s Estimate for the Base bid was $148,400.00.
