Background:
Project Consists of demolition of the existing playground/park features, site grading and drainage, concrete paving, construction of new playground equipment, construction of new site amenities and furnishings, sodding, and tree installation. Detailed elements of the project include 2-5-year-old play area, a 5-12-year-old play area, swing area, shade structures, site furnishings, concrete sidewalks, and landscaping.
The project was advertised on December 17 and December 24, 2019. Bids were opened on January 14, 2020 with three (3) bids received and all being responsive. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. The bids submitted were composed of seventeen (17) pay items to form the Total Base Bid and six (6) Additive Alternates. Due to budget constraints none of the alternates will be awarded. The lowest responsible bidder was Magnum Construction, Inc., with a Base Bid of $158,977.00 and Additive Alternates of $69,487.00 for a Total Combined Bid of $228,484.00. The engineer’s estimate was $156,145.75 for the Base Bid and $56,782.00 for the Total Additive Alternates for a combined (Base Bid + Additive Alternate) total of $212,927.75.
