Background:
On March 2, 2016, the Plaintiff Francis Patrick Charon filed a lawsuit related to his employment with the Broken Arrow Fire Department. Mr. Charon alleged that there was a breach of contract with his employment and negligence, and that he was damaged as a result.
Settlement of all claims was reached between the parties in the sum of $30,000.00 which Council previously approved.
The attached resolution authorizes the Journal Entry of Judgment in this matter for $30,000.00 as well as direction to prepare and file documentation necessary to effectuate the terms of the settlement.
Cost: $30,000.00
Funding Source: Sinking Fund to be repaid by ad valorem taxes
