Background:

Downtown Main Street Streetscapes - Phase V consists of improvements to Main Street between Detroit Street and Elgin Street.  The Base Bid includes improvements to Main Street and the South Side of Elgin Street.  Add. Alter. No. 1 includes improvements to the North Side of Elgin at the Intersection.  Add. Alter. No. 2 includes improvements the North Side of Elgin on the East and West ends of Elgin Street.  These improvements include concrete and brick pedestrian paving, asphalt and concrete vehicular paving, concrete curb and gutter, masonry raised planters, grading and underground stormwater drainage improvements, decorative street lighting, electrical services and receptacles, pedestrian and vehicular lighting, signage and striping between Detroit and Freeport Streets, deciduous street trees, shrubs and ornamental plantings, irrigation and miscellaneous site amenities. 

Bid documents were prepared and advertised on May 6 and 13, 2019. The contract was awarded to the low bidder Diversified Civil Contractors, LLC with a Base Bid of $1,640,041.28 and an Add. Alter. No. 1 Bid of $226,052.25 for a total of $1,866,093.53. A notice to proceed of September 1, 2019 was issued to the contractor for the 120 day construction contract. 

 

This Change Order #1 addresses the following additions /or deletions to the contract:

-                     The construction contract line item #13 - Traffic Signals shall be deleted/underran from the contract as directed by the Engineering and Construction department and as accepted by the contractor. This reduction of the line item will result in not installing the signalization at the Detroit and Main Intersection. Line Item 2 of this change order, however, will install the underground infrastructure such that signals can be installed in a future project.

 

-                     As directed by the City of Broken Arrow Engineering and Construction Department, the contractor shall install the underground and concrete component of the deleted line item #13 - Traffic Signals. The extents of this work shall include all underground conduit required per plans, all concrete pole bases complete in place per original contract, and installation of a poly carbonate electrical pull box in lieu of the concrete pad at the signal controls box. The installation of these items are to follow the original contract documents outlined within the original Line Item #13. The proposed costs associated represent a complete in place cost.

 

-                     Additional Contract Time - There is no addition or deletion of contract time with this change.
