Background:
Vandever Park is located at 1101 W. Ithica St. Broken Arrow, OK. Improvements to this park were included in the 2014 GO Bond. The firm PDG, LLC was selected to provide the design to update the existing park. The updates include replacing the existing playground, adding adjacent seating, along with other improvements.
Bid documents were advertised on September 3rd and 10th, 2019. Six responsive bids were received and opened on October 1, 2019. The lowest responsive bid was from Stronghand, LLC with a Total Base Bid price of $185,545.62 and Total Additive Alternates price of $23,713.01 for a Total Bid (Base Bid + Additive Alternates) of $209,258.63. This Base Bid was almost 20% higher than the project budget of $150,950.00. The Engineer’s Estimate for the Base bid was $150,555.00 and for the Additive Alternates $16,550.00 for a Total Bid (Base Bid + Additive Alternates) of $167,105.00.
