Approval of and authorization to execute Agreement for Professional Consultant Services with R.L. Shears Company, P.C. for providing design services on the Broken Arrow Creek Trail Phase II project (Project No. 196032)

Background:
The City applied for and received a Federal TAP Grant of $750,000 for construction of a trail which is a continuation of the Phase I trail design that ends at E. Ithica Place at S. 1st Place. The new Phase II trail project begins at E. Ithica Place and continues along the west side of S. 1st Place tying into Arrowhead Park at E. Washington Street. $1,000,000 was also included in the 2018 GO Bond package for design and construction of the Phase II trail. The Engineering & Construction Department selected an A/E firm, R.L. Shears Company, P.C., from the list of ranked and qualified firms which submitted for the 2018 GO Bond Proposition 3, Quality of Life, projects to negotiate a design contract. The R.L. Shears Company, P.C. is also listed on ODOT’s Prequalified Consultants list for TAP Grant projects.
Cost: $123,985.00
