Approval of and authorization to purchase one (1) 2020 Ford F-150 Crew Cab Pickup from Bill Knight Ford, pursuant to the Oklahoma Statewide Vehicle Contract, for the Police Department

Background:
The State of Oklahoma currently has three vendors with competitive bids for half ton pickup trucks. Law Enforcement agencies throughout the State of Oklahoma are able to purchase vehicles at the state contract price, which is advantageous to the political subdivisions by allowing them to make purchases at lower prices. The Police Department is seeking to purchase one (1) full sized half ton crew cab pickup from the state bid contract. This vehicle will be assigned to the Special Investigations Unit to accommodate increased personnel. This vehicle will be utilized by a specialty unit and needs to not resemble other police vehicles or city fleet vehicles. The Ford -150 Crew Cab is the second lowest bid for ½ ton truck crew cabs on the statewide contract. The Department is also purchasing a Silverado which is the lowest bid on the statewide contract and the division needs the vehicles to be diverse for their special operations.
Bill Knight Ford submitted a state bid price of $32,722.00 for the 2020 Ford F-150.
Funds have been appropriated and are available in the Police Sales Tax Fund.
