Background:
The State of Oklahoma currently has three vendors with competitive bids for 2020 ¾ Ton Pickup trucks. Law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Oklahoma are able to purchase vehicles at the state contract price, which is advantageous to the political subdivisions by allowing them to make purchases at a lower price. The Police Department is seeking to purchase one (1) ¾ Ton Ford Pickup truck from the state bid contract. This vehicle will be used solely by one of the Police Department’s Detectives working in the capacity of a Crime Scene Investigator. This vehicle will replace an aged model planned for surplus in the near future.
Bill Knight Ford submitted the lowest state bid price of $29,641.00 for the 2020 Ford F-250 Crew cab pickup truck.
Funds have been appropriated and are available in the Police Department’s portion of the Sales Tax Capital Improvement Fund.
