Background:

The project is located in the Public Safety Complex at 1101 North 6th Street in Broken Arrow. The construction project consists of a new forensic lab and renovations to the records storage and workout facilities. Bid documents were prepared and advertised on January 28 and February 4, 2019.  Nine bids were received, with two bids non-responsive, and opened on February 19, 2019.  The lowest responsible bid was Builder’s Unlimited, Inc. for $301,918.00.

 

This Change Order #1 addresses the following additions to the contract:

 

-                     Per the request of the Construction Division, at the location of Door Number 102B, the contractor shall remove existing magnetic hardware left in place that is out of scope from existing project. This removal of the magnetic hardware is to be done by the controls contractor such to insure that no additional conflict with existing hardware is incurred. Furthermore, the contractor repair the damages to the walls and door created by the removal of the hardware. The noted costs within this change order summarizes a complete in place product.

 

-                     During construction of the overhead door in the vehicle inspection bay, a sizable gap was uncovered behind the hollow metal walls to the exterior upon removal of said walls. Thus, the contractor is to provide a painted metal trim package to enclose the exposed cavity created around the jamb and the lentil of the new doorway. The trim is to have a hem along one edge and an angle along the back side to provide closure along the interior wall. The noted costs within this change order are to provide a complete in place product.
