Background:
Tetra Tech, Inc. was retained by BAMA to design the referenced project. The west secondary clarifier at the Lynn Lane WWTP is currently out of service due to inoperative equipment. Rehabilitation of the clarifier is necessary to enable the plant to keep up with peak flows. The introduction of a non-potable water system at the plant will allow the use of non-drinking water to clean screens and other day to day plant operations.
Work includes rehabilitation of the existing secondary clarifier including removal and replacement of all internal mechanisms and scum pit modifications; return activated sludge (RAS) pump room modifications including the removal and replacement of three (3) RAS pumps with new electrical and controls, demolition and modifications of existing piping and supports, new building air handling and ventilation system and installation of new RAS line yard piping; New non-potable water (NPW) pump station building with new electrical and mechanical components and new NPW distribution system within the plant, and miscellaneous site work and grading.
The project was advertised on June 10 and June 17, 2019. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on July 23, 2019. Bids were opened on August 6, 2019 and six (6) bids were received. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached. The bids submitted were composed of the Base Bid and Additive Alternate Nos. 1-16.
