Approval of and authorization to declare two (2) Stair-PRO (Stair Chairs) of the Fire Department as surplus and authorize the donation of those items to education organizations such as vocational trade schools, junior colleges, and any other training institutions

Background:
The manufacturer of the Stair-PRO chair provides that the emergency chairs have a seven (7) year patient use life before they are no longer recommended for use. These chairs are outside the manufacture service life for patients in the field. The Stair-PRO chairs are identified as serial numbers: 08129241; 060539659.
The Fire Department has been contacted by various educational institutions interested in obtaining this equipment that they would otherwise be unable to financially purchase. Per Section 2-42 of the Broken Arrow Code of Ordinances, Staff is recommending that each entity that is interested in obtaining the equipment enter into a contract with the City that provides that the equipment will be used for educational purposes and or training/operations and agree to release the City of any liability from the use of said equipment.
