Consideration, discussion, and possible approval of the Professional Consultant Agreement with Wallace Engineering - Structural Consultants, Inc. for the Hillside Drive Retaining Wall Replacement

Background:
On July 16, 2019 the City Council authorized the Engineering & Construction Department to negotiate a design contract to replace the damaged upper retaining wall along Hillside Drive which is located on the north side of the road between Albany Street and 9th Street. The current retaining wall is a segmental block wall and has experienced damage due to sliding caused by hydrostatic pressure behind the wall from the historic storm events in May 2019. Hillside Drive, in the vicinity of the damaged wall, has been closed for safety concerns. The Engineering & Construction Department has negotiated with Wallace Engineering to design a new cantilevered, concrete retaining wall and drainage system to replace the damaged wall.
Cost: $58,490.00
