Background:

On July 13, 2018, the Plaintiff Lamont Tharps filed a tort claim pursuant to 51 O.S. § 151 et seq. by and through his attorney of record J. Spencer Bryan, alleging that the City of Broken Arrow used Excessive Force in Violation of the Fourth Amendment against Lamont Tharps during an arrest on or about February 15, 2018, resulting in bodily injury to Lamont Tharps.

Settlement of all claims was reached between the parties in the sum of $75,000.00 which Council previously approved. 

The attached resolution authorizes the Journal Entry of Judgment in this matter for $75,000.00 as well as direction to prepare and file documentation necessary to effectuate the terms of the settlement.
