Background:
The Police Department requested and sought bids for police uniforms and equipment. Thirteen (13) vendors met the specifications. The low bid was submitted by Southern Uniform & Equipment.
This contract will provide an existing vendor and source to equip police recruits with their initial issue of uniforms and equipment. Additionally, the contract will provide the entire Police Department with an existing vendor in which to replace unserviceable uniform and equipment items quickly. The contract will be for fiscal year 2020 and has an option to be renewed for two additional years.
Staff recommends awarding the bid to Southern Uniform & Equipment.
Cost: Approximately $25,000 (Pricing based on new and replacement officer positions
Funding Source: Police Public Safety Sales Tax Fund
