Background:
The Police Department is requesting that the City approve the purchase of 28 Taser X2s with battery accessories from Axon. The Taser X2s are being purchased to furnish equipment for new recruits and replacement of aging units. Axon, formerly Taser International, is the sole source vendor and manufacturer of the Taser X2. Funding for $36,000 has been budgeted in the Public Safety Sales Tax, Project #203006.
