Approval of and authorization to execute Change Order CO-2 for construction contract ST1806; Wolf Creek Subdivision Rehabilitation

Background:
The various Wolf Creek Subdivisions are made up of predominately concrete streets along with some asphalt streets, and concrete curb & gutter which require rehabilitation due to age and deterioration. The Engineering and Construction Department produced plans to address said rehabilitations within the Wolf Creek Subdivisions which included a Base Bid as well as ADD. ALT. No. 1 & ADD. ALT. No. 2. Bid documents were prepared and advertised on August 13th and 20th. Two bids were received and opened on September 11, 2018. With the lowest responsible bid of $1,407,502.10, the contract was awarded to BL Tower Construction and was issued a notice to proceed for construction.
This Change Order #2 addresses the following additions to the contract:
- At the direction of City of Broken Arrow engineering and construction staff, additional areas of repair have been identified for repairs above and beyond the original quantity within the contract, but still within the scope of the project work within the Wolf Creek Subdivision rehabilitation project. These items include additional mill and overlay profile changes in the asphalt street sections, additional concrete pavement patches, subgrade modifications, additional storm inlets, and additional sidewalk and ramps. The line item quantities noted within this change order shall be extended such to contractually cover the associated additional work. A final reconcile change order shall be processed upon completion of the project to finalize the actual installed quantities.
- Additional Contract Time - Due to weather impacts during the implementation of the contract work as well as due to increased project quantities as directed by the City of Broken Arrow, contract time shall be extended to a completion date of July 8...
