Approval of and authorization to execute Agreement For Gas Installation, between Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG) and the City of Broken Arrow (COBA), for the Lynn Lane Wastewater Treatment Plant Headworks Improvements Project (Project Numbers 165420 and 165423)
End

Background:
The Broken Arrow Municipal Authority (BAMA) has recently constructed improvements to the influent pump station and grit removal facilities (commonly referred to as the "Headworks") at the Lynn Lane Wastewaster Treatment Plant (LL WWTP). During the design of the Headworks improvements project, it was determined that it would be more efficient and advantageous to BAMA to use natural gas as an energy source for the heating of the wash water for the screens as well as heating for the new building and, in the future, current buildings. There is not currently any natural gas service at the LL WWTP.
The Engineering and Construction Department has been working with BAMA's consulting engineer for the Headworks project (HDR Engineering, Inc.) and ONG representatives to define the current and future gas loads for the LL WWTP and other design details for the new gas line. The resulting Agreement for Gas Installation is attached. The new gas line will be constructed within the west right-of-way of 9th Street south of Jasper Street extending to the LL WWTP main gate.
The total anticipated construction cost for this work is $70,011.00, of which, the COBA portion is $48,370.00 (69.1%). ONG's share is $21,641.00 (30.9%). The attached Agreement details this cost and serves as authorization for ONG to begin the new line construction process.
