Approval of and authorization to purchase one (1) ¾ ton truck for the Fire Department pursuant to the Oklahoma Statewide Contract SW35 and approval of and authorization to execute Fiscal Year 2020 Budget Amendment # 1

Background:

The Fire Department is requesting the purchase of a ¾ ton truck to replace a ¾ ton vehicle that was involved in a motor vehicle collision and has been determined to be a total loss. The truck will be purchased under the Oklahoma State Contract SW35 (item #1000009355). Based upon pricing and selected options for the truck which are reflected in the attached bid tabulation, the Fire Department recommends the bid for the Chevrolet 2500 Truck from Carter Chevrolet for one (1) ¾ ton truck as the most advantageous bid. Pursuant to the State Contract, Carter Chevrolet can provide the Chevrolet 2500 truck with identified options at $30,110.00

The Fiscal Year 2020 Budget Amendment #1 appropriates from Fund Balance, insurance proceeds of $25,000 that were received in FY19 and savings of $7,749 from two FY19 Fire Department Capital Improvement projects.

The Fire Department recommends that the Council approve the purchase of the Chevrolet 2500 truck from Carter Chevrolet.
