Background:
This item comes before the Council to advise of upcoming out-of-state travel by City Council members for July 2019:
Mayor Craig Thurmond has been invited to attend the Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma Regional White House Conference in Washington, D.C. on July 25, 2019. The White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs extends the invitation to State and local elected officials to hear remarks and have discussion with key administration leaders and policymakers. City Manager, Michael Spurgeon will accompany the Mayor.
Councilor Debra Wimpee will travel to Bridgeport, Connecticut July 24 - 27, 2019 to attend the Women in Municipal Government (WIMG) Summer Conference. WIMG enhances networking with female elected officials and statewide leaders and assists members with finding solutions to challenging problems in their hometowns.
Cost: Approximate - $1,500 (Mayor); $900 (Wimpee)
