Approval of and authorization to purchase the Fiscal Year 2019-20 Battle Creek Golf Course Business Insurance Policy with Central Insurance Companies

Background:
The City of Broken Arrow owns Battle Creek Golf Course. Due to the nature of this operation and the significant capital investment, the City maintains general liability and property damage insurance on all buildings and equipment.
It is the recommendation of staff that Central Insurance Companies be selected to provide the insurance protection at an annual premium of $35,430, which is $7,688 lower than last year’s premium with a former insurer. The new policy will provide $2,050,681 in blanket building coverage, $1,571,469 in mobile equipment coverage and $1,000,000 in general liability coverage per occurrence with a $2,000,000 general aggregate. There is also a separate $1,000,000 umbrella policy with the same carrier. Central Insurance Companies was founded in 1876 and is rated Excellent (A) by AM Best Company.

Funding Source: General Government Insurance Fund in the General Fund and BAMA
