Background:
The Events Park Adult Softball Complex is located in the northeast corner of the Events Park at 21101 E 101st Street. The project includes: Base Bid - four adult softball fields, one adaptive softball field, a concessions and restroom building, and parking. The Additive Alternates include: Ad. Alt. No.1 - LED Field Lighting, Ad. Alt. No. 2 - Batting Cages, Ad. Alt. No. 3 - Colored Concrete at Plaza, Ad. Alt. No. 4 - Entry Gateway & Signage, Ad. Alt. No. 5 - Basketball Court, Ad. Alt. No. 6 - Artificial Turf at Outfield Wings, Ad. Alt. No. 7 - Maintenance Equipment, Ad. Alt. No. 8 - Remove Trees at Outfields, Ad. Alt. No. 9 - Pond Aeriation/Fountain Equipment. Bid documents were prepared and advertised on April 8 and 15, 2019. Five bids were received and opened on May 14, 2019. The low bidder was Builders Unlimited, Inc. with a Base Bid of $6,721,383.00 and Ad. Alt. No.1 - LED Field Lighting of $182,277.00 for a total of $6,903,660.00. The Engineer’s Estimate Base and Ad. Alt. No. 1 Bids were $7,350,000.00 and $270,000.00, respectively, for a total of $7,620,000.00.
