Background:

The City’s negotiation team began contract negotiations on March 25, 2019, with the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #170 for a Fiscal Year 2019-20 labor agreement.  The negotiation team consisted of Cindy Arnold, Finance Director, Brandon Berryhill, Police Chief and Jannette McCormick, Human Resources Director.  In late April, the bargaining teams reached a tentative agreement.  The Lodge membership ratified the proposed agreement on May 6, 2019.  The Collective Bargaining Agreement is now being presented for your approval.

The proposed agreement provides for the following changes:

1.                     An increase in the uniform allowance for ballistic vests from $800 to $1,100.

2.                     An increase in the annual holiday accrual from 106 hours to 114 hours.

3.                     Clarification to the existing Use of City Vehicles article.

4.                     A 2.25% base-wage increase for all bargaining unit members effective July 1, 2019.

5.                     An additional 2.25% base-wage increase for all bargaining unit members effective January 1, 2020.
