Background:
To assist the Streets and Stormwater Department in their street maintenance program, the Engineering and Construction Department advertised a “non-encumbered” contract for Portland Cement Concrete Street Repair. The contract will be awarded based on unit prices, then work orders will be issued against the main contract for various concrete jobs. The contract will be awarded for a one-year period, with up to two possible renewals at the same unit prices.
The project was advertised for bids on April 22 and April 29, 2019. Bids were opened on May 14, 2019 and three (3) bids were received. The Certified Bid Tabulation is attached and the Engineer’s Estimate was $332,665.00. The lowest responsible bidder was Cherokee Pride Construction, Inc., with a bid of $239,640.00.
