title

Presentation to and recognition of Officer Patrick Chernisky from the Tulsa Area Safe Kids Coalition as the 2019 Metro Technician of the Year.

End

Background:

Officer Chernisky has been an advocate for child passenger safety for over ten years. Officer Chernisky took the lead in coordinating an ongoing effort here in our city to establish an inspection location. He partnered with Broken Arrow Fire Department officials to use Station #6 as the inspection location, Broken Arrow Police Department Crime Prevention for publicity and the Tulsa Area Safe Kids Coalition for support in terms of technical guidance and volunteer labor.

Through Officer Chernisky’s sustained efforts a systematic inspection approach had been established by 2012. From 2012 through 2019 Officer Chernisky’s efforts resulted in 1,332 car seat safety checks within the Broken Arrow community. Without Patrick’s zeal and passion for the cause of child passenger safety, this number would have undoubtedly been far less.

For his ongoing service and dedication the Tulsa Area Safe Kids Coalition is very proud to be honoring Broken Arrow Police Department’s Officer Patrick Chernisky as the 2019 Metro Technician of the Year.
