Consideration, discussion, and possible adoption of Ordinance No. 3111, an ordinance Chapter 5, Article I, Section 5-11 of the Broken Arrow Code pertaining to Restriction on location of stables, kennels, coops, etc.; repealing all ordinances to the contrary; and declaring and declaring an emergency an emergency

Background:

The City of Broken Arrow values the importance of pets and farm animals to the health and wellness of its residents. It was brought to the attention of the Youth City Council at the last regular council meeting that the ordinance regarding animals did not address unicorns in the code. Staff believes it is important to amend the ordinance to include unicorns in the language of the code, allowing for such farm animals to be kept in the properly zoned areas of the city, just as horses and cows are treated, because unicorns are magical.
