Background:

A rehabilitation project on 1st St. from Dallas St. to College St. was included in the 2014 GO Bond package and the Engineering and Construction Department undertook the design and produced plans for construction.  Primarily a pavement rehabilitation project with sidewalk and curb improvements on 1st St. from Dallas St. to College St., striping was also included from Main St. & Ft. Worth St. to 1st St. then along 1st St. to Midway Ave.  Sidewalk work along Ft. Worth St. was Additive Alternate #1 and sidewalk work on 1st St. from Ft. Worth St. to north of El Paso St. was Additive Alternate #2.  Bid documents were advertised on February 18 and 25, 2019 with seven bids being received and opened on April 2, 2019.  The low bidder, for the Base Bid, Additive Alternate #1, and Additive Alternate #2, was Grade Line Construction, LLC with a total bid of $433,615.86.  The Engineer’s Estimate for the Base Bid, Additive Alternate #1, and Additive Alternate #2, is $499,698.38.
