Presentation regarding an update of the Lynn Lane Wastewater Treatment Plant Headworks Improvements

End

Background:

This update is regarding the Lynn Lane Wastewater Treatment Plant Headworks improvements project.  The project consists of upgrades to the influent headworks of the facility, which was constructed over 30 years ago.  The influent equipment and electrical components were at the end of their useful life and odors had become problematic.  Data from an “Odor Study” performed in 2002 indicated that 98 percent of the odors at the facility were coming from the Influent Headworks, Grit Station, and Secondary Pump Station.  Broken Arrow Municipal Authority entered into an agreement to design the improvements in May 2016.  The construction of the improvements started in February 2018 and is expected to be completed in May 2019, slightly ahead of schedule.

Cost:                                                                NA (Plant improvements cost $9,772,200 under separate contract)

Funding Source:                     NA (Funding for the improvements is an OWRB Loan)

Requested By:                      Charles Vokes, Utilities Director

Approved By:                      Michael L. Spurgeon, City Manager
