Background:
This bid award was approved at the February 5, 2019 City Council meeting. This award requires that a budget amendment be approved in order to fund this project. The budget amendment in question was placed upon the February 19, 2019 council meeting for consideration. Therefore, the previously approved bid award must be ratified subject to the budget amendment approval.
Stormwater was ponding at West Boston Court between South Narcissus Court and South Narcissus rendering the street impassible during storm events. The City is responsible for maintenance and repair of city owned streets and storm sewers. City of Broken Arrow Engineering and Construction Department personnel designed and produced construction plans for bid. The project consists of constructing two new inlets, two new manholes as well as 15" and 30" diameter drainage pipes to improve drainage in West Boston Court within the Aspen Pond Subdivision.
The project was advertised for bid on January 7,2019. Bids were opened on January 29, 2019 and 13 bids were received. All bids were responsive except one and the lowest responsible bid was from Cherokee Pride Construction, Inc., for $78,704.00. The engineer's estimate was $89,275.50 and the Certified Bid Tabulation is attached.
