Award the most advantageous bid to Utility Supply for the purchase of water line pipes and accessories for the construction of a water distribution system along West Jasper Street

Background:
The bids solicited are for the purchase of about 3000 LF of 12” PVC pipe and required appurtenances for the construction of water distribution along West Jasper Street from South Olive Avenue to South Gardenia Avenue. The funding for the purchase of materials is from the Capital Outlay Improvement for FY2019. The new 12” line shall be able to provide adequate volume and pressure to serve the area. The installation of the new line shall be undertaken by Utility Department crews.
City Purchasing Department solicited bids for the supply of the 14 items listed in the bid tab from eight (8) vendors and received four (4) complete bid proposals. Staff has reviewed the bids and recommends award to Utility Supply, the lowest responsive bidder in the amount of $68,799.16. Funding is from the Capital Outlay Improvements FY2019 project WL 1901 Account No. 020-5400-434-7015.
